Kitchen Outlets Are Not Working

Gfci was off but breaker was not.

Kitchen outlets are not working. I believe that all 4 outlets are all connected to one circuit so why would every 2nd outlet be dead. So our issue is just one wall of outlets in our kitchen where we plug in all of our appliances is not working. There is power in the wall leading to the outlet yet no power on the actual wire. It was a 20amp outlet and i connected it appropriately using the back holes instead of screws to attach the wires.

I can follow the circuit from that outlet for a bit and it does not seem to be on the same circuit though who knows if that s true or not. I ve checked for power with a voltage tester. I have checked all the plugins that are visible and have checked gfic but there is no current and the circuit breakers are ok. Unplug lamps and appliances from dead outlets. Multiple dead outlets breaker not. Our kitchen has 4 outlets each 2nd outlet has stopped working.
